Student Housing Case Study

TAMU Park West — Largest Single-Phase Student Housing IT Integration in the US

Servitas engaged Synergy Fiber as the single IT vendor to design, deploy, and operate converged services under a tight 16-month timeline for August 2017 move-in.

The Challenge

Park West required full IT convergence across a massive student housing footprint: 15 buildings over 47 acres with gigabit-class connectivity expectations to every resident unit. Delivery had to align with a firm 16-month construction window and a fixed August 2017 student move-in date.

Because this was a high-profile Texas A&M-affiliated development, ownership and operations teams required one accountable technology partner to remove cross-vendor handoffs and keep installation, testing, and turn-up on schedule.

Single-vendor responsibility made the timeline executable: Synergy handled data, WiFi, TV, surveillance, access control, and low-voltage cabling as one coordinated delivery.

WiFi & Networking (Ruckus)

The network stack combined Ruckus wireless, ICX switching, and Virtual SmartZone control to support high-density resident demand across indoor and outdoor spaces. The deployment supports up to 1,900 Mbps data rates while maintaining a seamless roaming experience.
